IRVING ROSENTHAL, Sheeper (Grove Press, New York 1967)

One of the several imported American books I bought at Compendium Bookshop in London. Rosenthal had founded the Beat literary mag. Big Table in Chicago in 1959 and was part of the gay junky circle around Burroughs, Ginsberg and Jack Smith (in whose films he appeared). The book includes florid autobiography and fantasy, as well as fascinating accounts of Herbert Huncke and Alex Trocchi.
